In Chinese astrology, every 12 years there is a Rooster year. Each zodiac year is not just associated with an animal sign, but also one of five elements: Gold (metal), Wood, Water, Fire, or Earth. This year, as in 1957, the element is fire making this the year of the Fire Rooster.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a song that contains a series of increasingly grand gifts given twelve days before the big day. The song, published in England in 1780, seems a little out-of-date. I mean, really who needs twelve drummers drumming alongside seven swans swimming around?! Lucky for us, hair metal band Twisted Sister dropped a holiday album, A Twisted Christmas, in 2006. The band recorded a re-imagined version filled with heavy metal references called Heavy Metal Christmas.
